SphereCinemaVR

Sphere Cinema VR puts you in the centre of a huge hollow sphere and lets you build your own media room around you.

Video screens. Play your own videos on as many independent screens as your PC can handle. Grab them with the controllers, move, rotate and resize them; screens snap to each other's edges and copy sizes so you can tile a video wall in seconds. Every screen has its own play/pause, seek bar, volume, mute, repeat and aspect lock. Profiles save and restore your whole layout.

Wide format support. MP4, MKV, WebM, AVI, MOV, TS, WMV, FLV… with H.264, HEVC/H.265, AV1, VP8/VP9, MPEG-2 and more, and AAC, MP3, Opus, Vorbis, AC3, DTS, FLAC audio. A safe pre-check keeps a damaged or unsupported file from taking down your session.

Built-in web browser. A real Chromium browser on a screen in your room: point, click, scroll, type with the virtual keyboard, search, zoom, and move it like any other screen. Each browser has its own audio, pages cannot access your files, and downloads and permission prompts are blocked, some sites dont work on the browser yet, is a work in progress.

Photo background. Cover the whole sphere with photos from image boards (boorus such as safebooru.org) by tags, or from folders on your PC. Photos change one by one in random order at a speed you choose, from one every 30 seconds up to 50 per second, with photo size control. Several sources can be mixed evenly.

Made for PCVR. Designed for Meta Quest 2/3/3S/Pro through Meta Quest Link or Air Link (any OpenXR headset should work). No headset? It starts in desktop mode so you can try it first.

The Demo of the game only allows one video and one booru, the paid app allows custom videos and a lot of boorus. The browser is also limited to wikipedia

Requirements

• Windows 10/11 64-bit, Vulkan 1.1 GPU
• For VR: OpenXR headset (Meta Quest Link or SteamVR as the OpenXR runtime)
• Nothing else to install: extract the zip and run SphereCinemaVR.exe

Good to know

• Decoding is done in software: 3–4 simultaneous 1080p videos is a comfortable target; 4K and AV1 are heavy.
• The built-in browser does not play H.264/AAC/MP3 inside web pages (VP8/VP9/AV1/Opus do).
• Booru content depends on the sites and tags you choose and may be adult; you control the sources.
• Not affiliated with Meta or any image site. The app is not code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen may warn on first run.
